The MV Loch Seaforth was launched on the 21st of March 2014 by the oldest daughter of the Captain of the previous MV Loch Seaforth (I), Mrs Joan Murray. The MV Loch Seaforth replaced the MV Isle of Lewis, as the volume of traffic was getting too high for it. The MV Loch Seaforth managed to cut the MV Isle of Lewis's roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes crossing time by 15 minutes. Until winter 2015 the MV Loch Seaforth was assisted by the MV Isle of Lewis in case there was any trouble with the new vessel.
