CalMac has a history dating back around two centuries, with seven company names and their current and previous fleets add up to around 150, operating and operated over 30 routes across the west and north coasts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, serving around 30 islands (currently 25) and serving at least 55 harbours (currently 51).
